Client

DoubleVerify operates a global ecosystem for digital media measurement and analytics. Their mission is quite clear – to help brands optimize their digital ad spend and drive better ROI across every major market worldwide.

Today, hundreds of Fortune 500 brands depend on DoubleVerify’s data to keep their media quality in check. This unbiased insight is what actually lets them optimize performance and bring some real transparency to the digital ecosystem.

Business Challenge

As digital advertising grew more complex, reporting workflows just fell apart into fragmented pieces. The real bottleneck was in publisher-side analytics, specifically the grind of manually aggregating and normalizing data from a long list of DSP and SSP partners.

The real operational and data issue was the lack of direct comparability between data sources. The manual reporting process was resource-intensive, and cross-platform analysis was virtually impossible due to the inconsistency of the datasets, necessitating substantial manual labor.

The scaling requirement was for more than just additional headcount. They needed deep engineering expertise to push the product forward while keeping the platform stable. Since scaling the in-house team was too slow for their roadmap, the priority was finding an external partner capable of handling a complex AdTech stack immediately.

Solution

We deployed a dedicated engineering team that functioned as a long-term extension of DoubleVerify’s internal organization. Rather than working as an isolated unit, our engineers integrated directly with DoubleVerify’s teams to scale reporting workflows across several massive data initiatives.

Key Contributions:

  • Streamlining data ingestion from various DSP and SSP sources.

  • Building logic for cross-platform metric normalization.

  • Automating reporting to minimize manual intervention.

  • Scaling reporting automation and enhancing dashboard capabilities.

  • Optimizing platform performance and overall system reliability.

Working side-by-side with DoubleVerify’s engineers, we’ve improved and scaled reporting and data workflows across several analytics initiatives within the platform. This included supporting DV Publisher Suite by strengthening its publisher-side analytics and ensuring reporting remains reliable as data loads increase.

Over the years, the team has been involved in numerous initiatives across the reporting platform, helping DoubleVerify expand its analytics and reporting capabilities while maintaining system stability and delivery speed.
To support both delivery speed and long-term sustainability, we assembled a focused, high-impact team tailored to the project’s technical requirements.

The core team consisted of:

  • Frontend Engineering (Angular): 2 engineers focused on the platform’s interface and usability

  • QA & Automation: A dedicated Lead ensuring testing rigors and automated workflows

  • Data Engineering: Focusing on the integrity and processing of high-volume data streams

The collaboration began with two engineers and gradually expanded to four as the partnership evolved and demand for the team’s expertise increased. This team has been successfully working with DoubleVerify for eight years, demonstrating the kind of long-term stability and deep platform knowledge that only comes from nearly a decade of shared development.

Our dedicated engineering team has contributed to the analytics and reporting capabilities within DoubleVerify’s DV Publisher Suite, as well as other related data platform components.

Frontend Engineering

We worked on the Unified Analytics interface, which is the primary tool publishers use to aggregate and analyze performance data from various programmatic partners.

Stack: Angular and TypeScript

Highcharts for data visualization

Impact: We developed and enhanced the platform’s interactive dashboards and reporting views, supporting the analytics interfaces used for revenue performance analysis and campaign delivery.

Quality Engineering & Automation

Our quality engineering efforts were focused on supporting Revenue Analytics within the DV Publisher Suite, ensuring the overall reliability and stability of its reporting and analytics workflows.

  • Tooling: Java, TypeScript, GenAI-assisted automation

  • Impact: Our QA lead didn’t just find bugs; they developed the testing strategy and automation pipelines that now support multiple development streams, ensuring stability as the platform evolves

Data Engineering & Workflows

Data engineering contributions were centered on internal workflows supporting the analytics and reporting infrastructure throughout the DV platform.

  • Tech: Python, Airflow, and PostgreSQL

  • Focus: We worked on data aggregation, metadata management, and the platform-level integrations that feed into the final analytics products

Infrastructure & DevOps Environment

Development was fully integrated into DoubleVerify’s cloud-native infrastructure using:

  • Docker

  • Kubernetes

  • GitLab CI/CD

This setup maintained the automated testing pipelines and handled scalable deployments across all platform services as part of our daily workflow.

Value Delivered

Our engineers worked within DoubleVerify’s internal development processes from the start. We adopted their existing workflows, tools, and architectural standards to ensure the team was fully operational without any friction in the ramp-up phase. It was a shared environment where we functioned as a direct part of the engineering organization.

The team operated alongside internal engineers on multiple initiatives, contributing to both platform development and reporting-related improvements. Instead of a fixed-scope project, the collaboration was built around continuous delivery. This approach supported roadmap execution, feature development, and performance enhancements as business priorities shifted within the organization.

Project Results

Over eight years, the team became a trusted engineering extension for DoubleVerify. We’ve maintained delivery continuity and deep platform knowledge, adapting to the changing needs of a global AdTech organization over nearly a decade.

Through years of embedded collaboration, we provided DoubleVerify with the stable and scalable engineering capacity required to navigate a high-pressure AdTech environment.

Over eight years, our dedicated team focused on reducing manual reporting overhead and improving cross-platform data consistency while maintaining steady delivery velocity across shifting initiatives. This partnership ensured engineering continuity and provided the operational stability needed to support the platform’s growing demands.

The team has become a trusted extension of DoubleVerify’s internal engineering organization, contributing to the long-term efficiency and sustained evolution of the platform.”
